Neem Flakes are safe, 100% Natural, and non-toxic at recommended rates. These notes exist to help you use them correctly for the best results.
Very young seedlings are sensitive to azadirachtin. Wait until plants have their first true leaves before introducing neem into the growing medium. For seedling trays, use plain cocopeat and vermicompost — add neem at transplanting stage.
More is not better with neem. Very high concentrations can temporarily suppress beneficial soil organisms alongside the harmful ones. Apply at the recommended rate. If pest pressure is severe, treat twice 3 weeks apart rather than over-applying in a single application.
Azadirachtin can affect aquatic invertebrates. Do not apply neem flakes in areas where runoff will directly enter ponds, water features, or natural drainage channels. Apply conservatively near water and avoid creating runoff.
Neem disrupts the pest life cycle over 2–4 weeks. If you apply neem and see continued pest activity in the first week, the system is already working. Do not increase dosage in response to slow visible results.
Azadirachtin degrades in heat and UV exposure. Store in a sealed bag in a cool, shaded location. Do not leave open in sunlight. Properly stored, Prahas Neem Flakes retain full potency for 12–18 months.
At recommended application rates, neem flakes do not harm mammals, birds, earthworms, or pollinators. Azadirachtin targets insects with specific hormonal systems. Soil-incorporated neem does not affect bees. It is safe to handle without protective equipment.
