Unlike many inputs, more humic acid does not mean better results. Very high concentrations can reduce effectiveness and temporarily alter soil pH. Use at the recommended rate consistently rather than in high occasional doses.

Undissolved humic acid granules applied directly to soil or leaves can cause localised concentration issues. Always dissolve completely in water before application. Stir thoroughly and allow 2–3 minutes for full dissolution before use.

Humic acid is less effective in strongly alkaline water (pH above 8.5). If your tap water is highly alkaline, allow it to sit overnight before use, or add a small amount of apple cider vinegar to bring the pH down before dissolving humic acid in it.

The benefits of humic acid accumulate in the soil over multiple applications. Do not expect dramatic visible results from one treatment. Regular application over a growing season produces measurable improvements in nutrient uptake, root growth, and overall plant health.

Humic acid granules are hygroscopic — they absorb moisture from the air. Store in a sealed container in a cool, dry place. Clumping is normal and does not indicate degradation — the clumps dissolve normally in water. Avoid storing near fertilisers with high nitrogen content.
